Special Junior Awards and The Preen Family Scholarships announced

The winners of the TSC Special Awards and the Preen Family Scholarships were announced at the TSC Junior Prize-Giving held Thursday 31 March. Kane Newland, TSC Head coach named Kate Crawford – the most promising junior player and with Kate receiving the Preen Family Cup. Ben Goldingham was presented with the Lane Family Cup for Fair Play and Brianna Howell was named the Rep Player of the Year.

This year the Preen Family Scholarships were awarded to Josh Cameron and Kate Crawford with each player receiving $500 towards tennis expenses.

It was a full house in the ASB Pavilion to celebrate the successes in junior tennis in the 2015/16 season. Alister France from Alpine Energy presented the awards to those teams who were winners or runners up in their respective grades in the Apline Energy Inter-Club competitions.

Keith Lane, Chair of the TSC Board acknowledged the efforts of the junior conveners in the clubs and thanked them for the work they had done over the season. Cave club – Kath Campbell and Vicky Paul; Highfield Club – Robyn Dowling; Wai-iti Club – Matt Cameron; Hilton-Geraldine Club – Rose Acland and Michelle Howell; Waihi School Club – Stuart Wilcox; Temuka Club – Letitia Uren and Totara Valley Club – Leanne Fifield.
